William's Biography
William started his music career at the age of 10 and has been performing in
various forms of music since. Now a long time resident of Janesville, WI,
William’s family moved to all 4 corners of the US when he was growing up
exposing him to a variety cultures and music styles that have shaped his style
across many genres of music.
William has been associated with many local bands spanning 4 decades and has
been a past member of the BJSO Chorus and the Choral Union. "I have always
focused on the supporting roles of music as a side man or multi-instrumentalist
in most of the groups I have been with," states the singer/songwriter. The past
2 years have been dedicated to writing and recording his originals and is
currently working his first CD release.
Hatfield’s style of music has been described as "folk-blues-jazz-rocker with a
touch of country". His show features several textures from fingerstyle six
string acoustic guitar, 12 string guitar and harmonica with confident vocals
all presented through the unique Bose Cylindrical Personal Amplification
System. He also offers a side order of humor. “I strive to keep my presentation
fun but with a dose of emotion,” says William. William is a current member of
the Madison Songwriters Group.
